Job Responsibilities:

  1. Customer assistance: Salespersons in duty-free shops on cruise ships are responsible for providing excellent customer service to passengers. This includes greeting customers, answering their questions about products, and helping them find items they’re interested in purchasing.
  2. Product knowledge: Salespersons must have a thorough understanding of the products available in the duty-free shop, including cosmetics, fragrances, alcohol, tobacco, and luxury goods. They should be able to provide detailed information about product features, benefits, and pricing to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
  3. Sales and upselling: Salespersons are responsible for driving sales and meeting revenue targets set by the cruise line. This may involve actively promoting specific products, recommending complementary items, and using persuasive selling techniques to encourage passengers to make purchases.
  4. Merchandising and display: Salespersons are responsible for ensuring that merchandise is attractively displayed and well-stocked in the duty-free shop. They may assist with setting up product displays, arranging merchandise on shelves and counters, and restocking inventory as needed to maintain a visually appealing shopping environment.
  5. Cash handling and transactions: Salespersons process sales transactions using cash registers or point-of-sale systems, accept payment from customers, and provide accurate change. They are responsible for handling cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment securely and efficiently, while adhering to company policies and procedures.
